Our Prenatal Classes allow the mother-to-be and her support person to gain essential knowledge of a healthy pregnancy, learn the important practical skills for a positive childbirth experience, and receive valuable information on early care of the newborn.
Our childbirth educators work in partnerships with the client, health professionals and the community. As soon as pregnancy is confirmed, we encourage expectant women to enroll in one of our class sessions that suits their schedule.
Classes include a hospital tour.
Completion of the class should be approximately six weeks before your due date. Subsidies may be available; please ask for details when registering.
The course consists of six classroom hours plus a hospital tour. Topics include labour and delivery, interventions and complications, postpartum for mother and baby, breastfeeding, and the newborn.
Classes will be held at Queen Victoria Hospital and course dates run:
February 11th and 12th
