Innovation Night - Sports, Rec & Adventure Tech
Thursday 22nd November
6 - 9pm

This is Revelstoke's key event for citizens to collaborate on solutions to community issues, startup ideas and present opportunities to their peers and Revelstoke’s innovation community. It’s a hackathon and critical look by a group of locals; challenging and supporting their growth offline & online.

Are you brewing on an idea in Revelstoke’s sports, rec and adventure tech industry? Or do you have a startup in motion?

You or your friend can pitch your idea to:

* Startup a new recreation business, innovate or create new products
* Connect with other entrepreneurs and form partnerships
* Explore opportunities to utilize technologies to develop and commercialize products

What is Startup Revelstoke?

We are a business launchpad bringing together entrepreneurs with mentors and investors passionate about a smart city. We support startups with targeted online programming & local partnerships designed to complement existing entrepreneurial programs in Revelstoke. Our mission is to get people together to take risks, experiment, support one another in both success and failures, as we create bold opportunities with social impact.

What is a hackathon?

Hacking is creative problem solving and it does not have to involve technology.

The format is hands on; a series of short talks from people with ideas for a new business, or a stubborn problem in the space, followed by a series of collaborative and structured working sessions to develop solutions/offerings that could fill the need.

Participants typically form groups of about 2-5 individuals, take pen to paper and use laptops to dive into challenges and opportunities.

Join us to hear what’s happening in the sports and recreation sector locally, and connect with like-minded people passionate about the direction of this industry.

A special foreword from the Godfather of New School Skiing Mike Douglas and Greg Hill on Protect Our Winters and Electric Adventures!

Ride Guide's Kevin Pennock from Kimberley Outdoor Alliance will showcase what the town is doing to build startup culture in sports and rec.

You’ll also hear from:

Paul Larsen - Hiitscience
Alex Baechler - Outdoor Logistics
Amy Flexman - Flexpeditions
Simon Wex - Revelstoke Fab Lab
