Stoke FM Radio Society are looking to hire an Executive Director. The opportunity available to the right candidate will be to lead this small business into its next phase of development. This includes overseeing the overall administration, programming, communication and outreach aspects of the society.
This role is for someone who is self motivated, organized and interested in being involved in the community of Revelstoke and community radio sector. This role is challenging but does not come without reward. The candidate must be resourceful and effective at working on their own with minimal supervision.

Major responsibilities of this role fall into 2 categories:

1. Administering the Society: Work with, report to and receive direction from the Board
of Directors including: comply with the bylaws and constitution of the society
(including coordination of bimonthly meetings, AGM, annual financial audit and
filing with BC Registry); follow the purpose and core values of the organization
including CRTC rules and regulations pertaining to campus/ community radio;
establish and implement the Strategic Plan (vision, goals, areas of focus, and
projects); establish and implement, policies, procedures, and guidelines; keep
the organization on budget and oversee all revenue and expenses.

2. Sales: Planning and executing a sales strategy to insure full exposure to all local businesses on the benefits of advertising with the station.
Developing and maintaining relationships around the community within the numerous groups/associations that exist.
Selling air time.
Ad writing.
Working with ad production staff to ensure that ads are produced to spec, scheduled appropriately, and played as scheduled.

Additional: Oversee Volunteers. Coordinate, recruit and train volunteers with a focus on quality and content. Report to and advise Board on personnel matters.
Qualifications for the ideal candidate:

Bachelor’s degree and / or equivalent work experience, ideally in Broadcasting,
Media Studies, Business or a related field.

Experience writing grants and/or fundraising an asset.

Passionate about or experience with campus or community (public) radio.

Audio production skills an asset. (but we can teach you!)

Professional oral, written, digital, and interpersonal communication skills.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Staff and volunteer management experience is an asset.

Gotta love music and Revelstoke.

Salary:

Compensation: Rate of pay is $20hr based on 24 hours per week, with opportunity to earn more via commission.
